As a Patient Care Volunteer, you will visit patients in nursing homes or private homes, providing companionship and a listening ear. This role is crucial for offering emotional support to those in hospice care.

As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you will provide office support for the Unity Hospice team. Tasks may include organizing mailings, computer work, and creating care packets to assist in the daily operations of the hospice.

In the Music Memory program, you will work with Alzheimer’s patients to communicate through music. This role helps patients find renewed meaning in their lives through personalized musical experiences.

Greeters welcome and orient individuals and groups visiting the museum, explaining exhibits and programs. Volunteers are asked to help during a 2-3 hour shift either twice a month or weekly.

Docents provide short guided tours of the exhibits, which are scheduled in advance. They can pick up tours based on their availability and will receive training from Museum Educators.

Volunteers assist in engaging the public both in the museums and offsite, guiding children through craft and game activities, providing hospitality services, and helping with event setup and teardown.

Assist with various events organized by Women & Children's Horizons, including setup, coordination, and support during the events. Help ensure the success of events like the Mardi Gras Gala and Family Fun Fest.

Provide advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault, including personal advocacy, safety planning, and follow-up services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and provide on-call coverage during non-business hours, holidays, and weekends.

Assist in organizing and supervising activities for a free, 6-week summer camp for elementary school children. Volunteers will help create a fun and safe environment for over 100 children.
