Policy Overview   The purpose of this policy is to identify who is eligible for membership in the Lake Hiawatha Fire Department and to describe the application and investigation process. In order to maintain high level of competency and proud traditions, the department must ensure that its new members meet or exceed our standards. Furthermore, it must be recognized that its not everyone, in fact most people, cannot endure the physical and mental challenges of firefighting. Shelter Helpers assist with daily operations by helping with laundry, dishes, and other current needs. This role is vital for maintaining the shelter's cleanliness and efficiency.

Outreach Assistants help with outreach and fundraising events by setting up and taking down event sites and distributing flyers. This role is crucial for raising awareness about the shelter's mission.

Dog Walkers help exercise our dogs throughout the day, providing them with the physical activity they need. Volunteers must attend a Dog Walking Orientation before working with the dogs.

Assist in the care and socialization of animals in foster homes, ensuring they are well-fed, exercised, and loved. Volunteers will also help with transporting animals to veterinary appointments and adoption events.

Assist in organizing and managing golf outings to support Rose House's mission. Volunteers may help with event setup, registration, and coordination during the event.

Support various activities and events as needed, contributing to the overall mission of Rose House. Tasks may vary based on current needs and volunteer skills.
