Volunteers are needed to collect and create mail for our veterans, which brings joy and a sense of love to our heroes. Additionally, we need individuals to circulate flyers, manage phone follow-up calls, cover tables at special events, promote raffle ticket sales, and assist with computer data entry tasks.

At our distribution centers, you will sort various donations and get them ready to go to our neighbors in your community. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and dress comfortably for the weather.

5K Volunteers help create a memorable experience for participants by assisting with registration, medal distribution, water stations, and more during our end-of-season 5K event.

Junior Coaches, aged 16-18, work alongside Coaches to inspire participants and develop leadership skills. This role is ideal for high school girls looking to serve as role models.

Coaches are the heart of our program, inspiring and guiding a team through our curriculum. This role involves direct interaction with participants, fostering their growth and development.

Assist with environmental projects at Little's Lake, including the removal of invasive species like Water Chestnuts and Garlic Mustard. Help maintain the park's natural beauty while gaining valuable experience in environmental conservation.

Help with various maintenance projects around Little's Lake. Tasks may include trail maintenance, litter removal, and general upkeep of park facilities. Enjoy the outdoors while contributing to the community.

Assist with set-up and service during a variety of events throughout the year, including Troy Night Out and family programs. Volunteers help ensure that events run smoothly, with opportunities available during both daytime and evening events.

Help patrons and catalog collections in the Research Library for 3+ hours per week. Volunteers of any experience level are welcome, and staff will provide training to ensure success.

Be the face of the Hart Cluett Museum by greeting visitors, introducing them to exhibits, and answering questions at the reception desk. This role may also involve helping with the gift shop and other clerical tasks.

From January to mid-April, volunteers can assist with our Tax Assistant Program. We are always looking for Tax Preparers and Greeters to help community members with their tax filings.

Volunteers will assist in stocking shelves, organizing donations, interfacing with customers, and bagging groceries. This role is crucial in ensuring that our food pantry runs smoothly and efficiently.

In May, volunteers can help with Community Action Month projects, including food distributions and other community support activities.

Hospitality Volunteers spend time with guests and help with chores that keep the shelter running. Tasks include kitchen work, housekeeping, laundry, office tasks, gardening, maintenance, front desk duties, and more. Volunteers also engage with guests by reading stories, playing games, or simply listening to them.

Volunteers assist in the Outreach Van which tours Albany for 8 hours each day, handing out food, water, and blankets to people staying outside. Volunteers can help staff during one of the two daily shifts: 2-6pm or 6-10pm.

Volunteers prepare lunch and dinner for approximately 40 people on Saturdays and Sundays. Tasks include providing, cooking, serving, and clearing away meals.
