The Moyers Corners Fire Department is a 100% Volunteer Fire Department serving our community since 1948. We currently have openings at each of our four fire stations located in the Town of Clay, Onondaga County, New York. No experience necessary, we provide the training and equipment. The Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medicals Services are some of the most diverse and challenging jobs today. Everytime the alarm goes off, we are faced with a different challenge to solve. We stand ready to respond 24/7, everyday of the year, in every weather condition possible. Anytime the alarm sounds, we respond. We train on many different types of emergencies ranging from structure fire, to heart attacks, to car accidents, to childbirths and any other imaginable emergency in between. Day or night we may have to use these skills, and very often under potentially stressful and emotional circumstances. Help sort and package grocery items for distribution to those in need. Volunteers should be prepared to lift small packages (up to 30 lbs.) and have good organizational skills.

Assist in creating bags of food for children in local schools. This role involves teamwork and organization to ensure children receive the food they need.

Raise awareness for the Food Bank at special events. Volunteers will help with various tasks to ensure events run smoothly and effectively promote the mission of the Food Bank.

Help distribute food directly to neighbors in need through the Mobile Food Pantry. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and should be ready to assist with logistics and distribution.

Volunteers assist in caring for residents by cooking and serving meals, greeting visitors, performing basic house maintenance, gardening, and helping with special events. Shifts are available seven days a week, allowing flexibility in scheduling.

Volunteers will support the Syringe Exchange Program by providing clean syringes and harm reduction education to participants. Volunteers will also assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Volunteers will assist in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS through community outreach and education programs. Responsibilities include distributing informational materials and supporting event organization.

Support the Q Center by providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth. Volunteers will engage in mentoring, organize activities, and assist with educational programming to promote inclusivity and support.

We are looking for anyone living in the North Syracuse area interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter with the North Syracuse Fire Department. We are a very progressive department that currently is staffed with 40 firefighters including some that are also Paramedics and Emt's. We currently operate out of two stations with 3 Engines,1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Tower Ladder, 2 Light Rescues all under the direction of 3 Fire Chief's. We run approximately 700-800 calls of service a year. The North Syracuse Fire Department offers a free room and board program for student who are attending local colleges. Each bunk-in is provided a place to live during their college semester. In exchange for the free room and board the student attends weekly fire department training and provides a service as a volunteer firefighter during a scheduled shift.
