The department responds to approximately 1000 calls annually. we cover 148 Sq. miles in 5 townships and the city of Hastings population of 17,000. | Requirements: We are accepting applications from interested members of the community, who live within our fire district, No experience required! Must be 18 years old, unless applying as a cadet. FFI/II with EMT or MFR license preferred, however we will train the appropriate applicant. Must have a valid Drivers Lic, pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Applicants with no licenses must be willing to take the FFI/II class within 24 months of joining the department, all fees paid by the department.
