The Summit Playhouse
The Music Director is responsible for teaching all vocal music to the cast. If a pit band is involved, they appoint and rehearse with the musicians, and conduct the band during all performances. This position requires an experienced musician with a strong background in both vocal and instrumental music.

Once the set has been constructed, painters are needed to bring it to life with color. Projects range from applying solid wall colors to intricate wood grain effects and detailed scenic designs. Painters of all skill levels, from beginners to experts, are welcome.

The Producer oversees the entire theatrical production, organizing the production team, scheduling auditions, and ensuring the production runs smoothly and on schedule. They are also responsible for keeping the show within budget. This role is ideal for organized individuals who enjoy managing projects, and new producers can work with experienced Playhouse producers.

The Choreographer creates all the dances for a musical, ensuring they reflect the artistic vision of the production, and teaches these dances to the cast. This role also involves preparing and conducting a dance audition as part of the casting process.

Lighting Assistants are needed to help hang and focus stage lights. This position requires comfort with heights, as climbing ladders is a necessary part of the role.

The Light Board Operator is responsible for following the script and executing lighting cues using a computerized light board. This role is not overly difficult and training is provided by the Technical Director. Operators must be present at all technical rehearsals and performances. No prior experience is necessary.

After the set is painted, Set Decorators furnish and adorn the stage according to the production's setting. This can include selecting furniture, lamps, curtains, benches, garbage cans, and lamp posts. Decorators source pieces from the Playhouse collection, or by borrowing, renting, and purchasing items.
