Read diaries to document metadata topics, ensuring that each diary is accurately categorized and searchable within the archive.

Write engaging blog posts about the importance of preserving diaries and the stories they tell. Help spread awareness about the American Diary Project's mission.

This volunteer role includes printing and organizing labels and inserts for the weekly meals. Once printed, the labels are affixed to the to-go containers and delivery bags. It’s a detail-oriented role that makes a big difference.

Our cooks are the heart of the kitchen! Each week, we need one volunteer to take charge of prepping, cooking, portioning, and cleaning up after the meal is made. It’s a 3–4 hour commitment, typically on Monday evenings.

Help us get meals into the hands of those who need them most. Deliveries happen Tuesday afternoons. Drivers meet at the City Mission kitchen, help bag meals, and include our 'In the Word This Week' inserts.

Our weekly shopper receives a meal plan and grocery list in advance and visits multiple vendors to gather all ingredients needed for the upcoming meal. If you’re organized and enjoy checking off lists, we’d love to have you help fuel our mission.
