We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with our Youth (Grade K-7) and Teen (Grade 8-12) Tutoring programs on a weekly basis. Volunteers will assist our tutoring staff on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and some evenings, and must be 21 and older, subject to a background check.

Volunteers proficient in languages other than English are needed to provide translation and other assistance for our Financial Empowerment Initiatives. We are looking for volunteers proficient in Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, French, Polish, Spanish, Turkish, and other languages.

Volunteer tutors are needed to provide individual and group tutoring to struggling students in Kindergarten – 3rd grade. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation and will receive training and ongoing support.

Financial Empowerment Intake and Screening Coordinators will greet clients that come to the site for VITA or other services. They will identify which service they have come for and ensure they have all necessary documents. Volunteers must complete the Standard of Conduct from the IRS Link and Learn program.

Volunteer Income Tax Preparers will prepare income tax returns for our VITA clients. They must be certified at the appropriate level so that all returns are prepared in scope. Volunteers must complete at least the Basic Preparer Certification and the Intake and Screening Certification from the IRS Link and Learn program.

Help with office work like correspondence, administration or in marketing tasks such as social media content creation, research and writing.

Assist families in navigating child care resources and services. Provide support in understanding financial assistance programs and help with provider referrals.

Spread awareness at events, expos, and conferences, disseminating WVV literature and recruiting new members

Volunteers will assist in organizing and managing various arts events, helping with logistics, and engaging with the community to promote cultural activities. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn new skills and be part of a vibrant arts community.
