Hancock Shaker Village depends on the talents of volunteers to develop and deliver programs, mount exhibitions, produce special events, and manage the farm and gardens. Although they are currently not accepting applications for new volunteers, interested individuals are encouraged to check back later for updates on volunteer needs.

Help maintain the beautiful grounds of Arrowhead by participating in gardening and landscaping activities. This role allows volunteers to enjoy the outdoors while contributing to the preservation of the historic site.

Help make WAM events successful by tabling at festivals, organizing volunteer appreciation events, and assisting with the annual gala.

Support visiting WAM artists by driving them to and from the train or bus station, offering housing during productions, and cooking for volunteer-led tech dinners.

Assist in spreading the word about WAM Theatre by putting up posters, giving out postcards, and writing thank you notes to donors and volunteers.

Ensure everyone is welcomed at WAM by identifying and reducing barriers to accessing theatre, educating staff and volunteers on accessibility issues, and recommending improvements.

Welcome the public to WAM performances by passing out programs, scanning tickets, assisting people to their seats, and answering questions about WAM Theatre.

Help in preparing and cooking soups as part of our Community Soup Program. Volunteers will assist in the kitchen and help with meal preparation for community distribution.

Assist in planning and organizing community events that support local agriculture and food distribution. Volunteers will help with logistics, outreach, and event coordination.

Deliver fresh produce to seniors and families in the community. Volunteers will be responsible for picking up and delivering produce to designated locations.

Provide a temporary home for a Great Pyrenees dog while we work to find a forever home. We cover the medical needs of the Pyr; you provide the love, food, and shelter.

Attend and help with setting up and coordinating Pyr events close to your area. Distribute breed information at events or educational programs.

Participate in the transport of a Pyr in your regional area of the NEPR territory. Mileage is tax deductible as a donation to NEPR.

The New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department is looking for new members to join the Fire Department. The New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department recently have lost several long term members due to retirements. The Department is looking for fill the ranks with new members with a interests in learning as well as training to become a Firefighter. The NAVFD provides in-house training for all of our members with outside agencies such as the MA Firefighting Academy providing classes from the the Fire Academy for any Fire Department within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There also is Medical training that we will provide to the members that wish to join the Fire Department. If a person wants to join the Fire Department but not in the capacity of a Firefighter, we at the New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department have other positions for anyone, we have Members on the Department that provide support in several areas, such as help with IT support with the Department's computer, radio's and other tasks. Also have members that help with community outreach for the Fire Department, fundraising etc. So there is a role for everyone that would like to be a part of the New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department.
