We have several categories of membership available to prospective volunteers: --Firefighter --Junior Firefighter --Support --Fire Police | Requirements: Firefighter-- Members in this category are expected to attend and attend basic fire school which is generally held on the weekends. The time requirement for this training depends on your intended function with the department. Acquiring specialized skills and knowledge requires advanced training beyond the basic requirement. Volunteer Firefighters needed in all aspects of operation from Emergency Medical Service and Fire Policing, to Fire Truck Operations and Firefighting. | Requirements: Adult/Senior members must 18 years of age and must not be convicted of Arson or Sexual misconduct of ANY kind. Apparatus operators must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license. Prospective members must fill out a notarized application sponsored by a current member in good standing. A $15 application fee must accompany their application. They then must meet with the Fire Departments Fire Commissioners, and then be introduced in person at the next department meeting. At the following meeting, the applicant will be voted on in absence by the department body of members. Upon a 2/3 majority vote in favor, the applicant will be approved for membership. They then will be given a copy of the department bylaws and placed on a probationary period of no less than 90 days, in which they must attend 3 regular meetings out of 6 in that period, and 3 weekly practices. Upon successful completion of their probation, they shall be considered a current and active member.
