Event volunteers play an integral role in the success of Sonoma Land Trust events by assisting with pre-event preparations and providing day-of support. Tasks may include greeting guests, signing them in, serving beverages, and helping with venue set-up and break-down.

As a Puppy Raiser, you will be responsible for teaching a young puppy basic obedience and socialization skills, preparing them for their future training as service dogs. This role requires a commitment of time and love to help these puppies grow into successful service dogs.

Exhibition installers work with the Museum's curatorial staff on all aspects of gallery preparation. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with their hands and don't mind getting a little dirty, with tasks including painting, framing, and constructing displays.

Event and program volunteers support Museum events such as opening receptions, lectures, family days, and concerts. They help set up and work during programs by tending bar, assisting guests, and ensuring events run smoothly.

Gallery attendants assist visitors with hands-on exhibits, answer questions about the exhibitions and the Museum, and monitor galleries to ensure the best experience for our visitors. This role is ideal for those who enjoy interacting with the public and have a passion for art and history.

Education and special projects volunteers assist docents and art teachers during tours and children’s programs at the museum. They help with prep work for projects in the education department and provide other as-needed assistance.

Docents are responsible for leading tours of the museum, speaking about the current exhibitions and the historic building. They should be social, energetic, confident, and comfortable working with children, adults, and other diverse groups. A background in education is preferred but not required, and all necessary training will be provided.

Docents take visitors on 40-45 minute tours of the Luther Burbank Home, Greenhouse, and portions of the surrounding Gardens. Each Docent serves three half-day shifts per month during the tour season from April through October, Tuesday through Sunday.
