As a Dog Care Volunteer, you will help care for Rhodesian Ridgebacks by providing them with love, attention, and basic training. Volunteers play a crucial role in helping these dogs become adoptable by ensuring they are well-cared for and socialized.

Assist in organizing and running fundraising events to support the rescue efforts. Volunteers will help with event setup, coordination, and engaging with attendees to promote the cause.

Volunteers are needed for deep cleaning and regular cleaning tasks in the morning and evening. This helps maintain a healthy and clean environment for the cats and kittens.

Join us every Saturday at 8:30 am to meet the horses and help with morning feeding. Volunteers will gain knowledge about horse care and have the opportunity to learn valuable horsemanship skills without needing prior experience.

Gift Shop Volunteers greet visitors and sell Gift Shop products during the tour season, serving three half-day shifts per month. The Gift Shop features items related to Burbank’s life and work, including specially designed products.

Join the Volunteer Gardener Program to care for the historic landmark's botanical and demonstration gardens. Volunteers work under the guidance of the Garden Curator and are expected to commit to two 3-hour shifts per month, year-round.

Docents take visitors on 40-45 minute tours of the Luther Burbank Home, Greenhouse, and portions of the surrounding Gardens. Each Docent serves three half-day shifts per month during the tour season from April through October, Tuesday through Sunday.

Adult volunteers engage with the public, facilitate hands-on activities, work with children in camps, lead museum tours, and support staff during special events. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience and must be at least 18 years old.

Junior Volunteers aged 12-13 can participate in various roles that enhance their experience at the museum. They will assist with hands-on activities and support educational programs while learning about teamwork and responsibility.

The Student Volunteer program offers students aged 14-17 the chance to develop essential life skills while supporting the museum's mission. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, facilitating educational programs, and assisting with special events, requiring a commitment of at least 3 hours per month.

Education and special projects volunteers assist docents and art teachers during tours and children’s programs at the museum. They help with prep work for projects in the education department and provide other as-needed assistance.

Event and program volunteers support Museum events such as opening receptions, lectures, family days, and concerts. They help set up and work during programs by tending bar, assisting guests, and ensuring events run smoothly.

Docents are responsible for leading tours of the museum, speaking about the current exhibitions and the historic building. They should be social, energetic, confident, and comfortable working with children, adults, and other diverse groups. A background in education is preferred but not required, and all necessary training will be provided.

Exhibition installers work with the Museum's curatorial staff on all aspects of gallery preparation. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with their hands and don't mind getting a little dirty, with tasks including painting, framing, and constructing displays.

Gallery attendants assist visitors with hands-on exhibits, answer questions about the exhibitions and the Museum, and monitor galleries to ensure the best experience for our visitors. This role is ideal for those who enjoy interacting with the public and have a passion for art and history.
