The Shorewood Foundation appreciates your interest in serving on one of its Committees. Committees work on grant-making, development and fundraising, communications and events, finance and audit, and nominations and board development.

Help organize, promote and assist with helping out on race day.

Reach out to area restaurants to see if they would like to participate and follow up after the event.

Work with the Annual Fund Chair to coordinate the strategy, messaging, print materials, social media, email scheduling and other forms of outreach. Fundraising and/or non-profit experience will be helpful.

Help sell raffle tickets at school events and/or the evening of the gala.

Volunteering your time to help raise awareness about SEED’s Annual Fund is important. Help is needed to reach out to past donors through phone calls, writing letters, and other means.

Volunteers with experience in writing promotional, informational, and other content are needed. Bonus if you have experience with non-profits.

Help develop print and digital pieces for events and annual fund materials. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is required.

Reach out to previous donors to seek their support and help find potential new donors. Creative ideas for new items and experiences are welcome.

Volunteers with a communications background are needed to help write, strategize, organize content, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

Join the Sponsorship & Advertising Team to reach out to previous donors and area businesses to ask for their support.

Create a calendar and schedule posts to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Volunteers should have experience in social media management.

Come up with ideas to make the gala look amazing and tie into the theme for the event.

Maintain email lists and set up and send out email campaigns using MailChimp. Volunteers should have experience with email marketing platforms.

Join us in growing and harvesting fresh healthy produce for our neighbors. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves and get their hands in the dirt to support our urban farm.

Help out at our events and festivals as we provide opportunities for the community to come together surrounding issues that are important to us. Volunteer activities include working with kids at craft and face painting stations, leading walks through the park, greeting visitors, passing out food, and much more!

This is a self-led opportunity in which volunteers are encouraged to pick up trash in the parks we manage. This opportunity is ideal for folks that need service hours and can be done for a maximum of 2 hours a day.

Help with trail maintenance, erosion control, and replacing invasive species with native plants. ROOT will most often take place outdoors, so come prepared for the weather.

Kick-start your day with fresh air and bird song. Volunteer and contribute to community science as we identify species within UEC green spaces. Interested bird watchers of all ability levels are welcome.

Love animals? Support in our Native animal room by feeding, maintaining enclosures, and providing enrichment.
