VBFD Fire Corps is the support team for the VBFD Firefighters. Do you have the desire to help others, but don't want to be a firefighter? Maybe the Fire Corp is for you. Fire corps members are activated on fires or any scene when personnel will be away from the station for an extended period of time. | Requirements: Must be at least 17 years of age, have a clean driving record and clean criminal history. Join the BCGC community by assisting with various tasks such as working with children, clerical work, or yard work. Whether you prefer a lively group setting or a quiet workspace, there's a place for you at BCGC.

Join hikes in the Hoosier National Forest to pull garlic mustard and Japanese stiltgrass. Volunteers should be prepared for outdoor conditions and bring necessary supplies.

Participate in Saturday Weed Wrangles to remove invasive species from local parks. Volunteers will learn about native habitats and contribute to their preservation.

Assist with regular care shifts at the rescue center, including feeding, cleaning, and socializing with cats. Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis to help maintain the well-being of the cats.

Help with monthly Weed Wrangles at the Canyon Forest Nature Preserve to manage invasive species. Attendance is limited, and registration is required.

Assist with the annual Native Plant Sale by helping with setup, sales, and customer assistance. This event helps promote native plants and raise awareness about invasive species.

Assist with various production aspects such as technical work, costumes, props, auditions, ushering, and serving on the Board of Directors. Volunteers must be available for the entire season and be at least 16 years old.

Assist the JTB Publicity Committee by managing social media platforms, mailing lists, and publicizing upcoming productions or events. The role is flexible, requires minimal hours, and involves regular meetings with the Producing Artistic Director.

Special Events volunteers assist with planning and executing various events throughout the year. This may include setting up, managing activities, and interacting with guests to ensure a successful event.

Education & Outreach volunteers help facilitate school programs and community events. This role involves engaging with visitors, assisting with educational activities, and promoting the museum's programs.

Front Desk & Museum Store volunteers greet visitors, provide information about the museum, and assist with sales in the museum store. This position requires excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.

Curatorial volunteers assist with the care and management of the museum's collections. Responsibilities may include cataloging items, assisting with exhibits, and conducting research related to the collection.

Lead youth educational programming both on-site and in local classrooms. This role involves engaging with young learners and teaching them about orcharding and sustainability.

Maintain a digital connection with the community via a monthly e-newsletter, social media, and the website. This role involves creating and managing content to promote the Orchard's activities.

Join the Operations team to oversee the Orchard’s flagship site and facilitate volunteer activities during Work & Learn Days. This role involves coordinating with volunteers and ensuring smooth operations.

Organize prospective planting opportunities and partnerships for the Orchard. This role includes coordinating spring and fall free fruit tree giveaways.
