Assignments vary and are based on training, physical fitness, experience and ability. Duties include but are not limited to fire suppression, fire prevention education, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, search and rescue, vehicle extrication, disaster preparedness, community service activities, public safety, response to civil disturbances and terrorism incidents.
