Volunteers assist with the Growing Together educational workshops for the public, helping on the day of events. This is a great opportunity to engage with the community and support educational initiatives.

Volunteers create and distribute posters to promote dog park events and general information. They are responsible for distributing posters to 3-5 locations in Falmouth and surrounding towns.

Volunteers visit the park to empty waste containers, sweep concrete and bench areas, and ensure the park is clean. This role requires about 15-20 minutes per visit, and volunteers can decide how many visits they make per month.

Help facilitate the Third Grade Field Trip Program by engaging students in Falmouth’s history. Volunteers will assist in guiding students through historical activities and storytelling, wearing Colonial period costumes provided by the Society.

Volunteers assist with various tasks in members' homes, including gardening, reading, walking together, and helping with light home maintenance like changing smoke detector batteries or organizing closets.

Volunteers provide transportation to stores, medical or other personal appointments, and social events. This role is crucial in helping members stay connected with the community and live safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Help members set up or understand electronics such as computers, cell phones, tablets, wearable devices, remote controls, or thermostats. This role is vital in ensuring members remain connected and independent.

Serve on committees such as Fundraising, Education, Promotion, Events, or Membership. Assist with event permitting, paperwork, and promotional material design.

Assist in planning and staffing major events such as the Woods Hole Trad Stroll, Arts Alive, and Jazztober. Volunteers can also help with fundraising, publicity, and event coordination.

Videotape and photograph events, assist with ArtsFalmouth Presents productions on FCTV, and contribute content for the website.

Join our Grief Services volunteer team to help provide connection and hope to suicide loss survivors in our community. Volunteers can either be loss survivors who have done their own grief work or caring individuals with experience in support roles, and will receive training and supervision to support them in their role.

Join community-driven biodiversity surveys using the iNaturalist app during 24-hour Bioblitz events. Participate in various activities from photographing insects to hiking and documenting species. Events typically run from 6pm to 6pm, often on weekends.

Join the monitoring of the northern long-eared bat population during spring and summer. Volunteers assist in setting up nets and recording data at night, with flexible time commitments. Note that handling bats requires a rabies vaccination, which volunteers cannot have.
