The Happy Heart Haven is looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with the care of the animals and the sanctuary. This is an independent role where volunteers will be trained by the founder, Cristi, and are expected to commit to regular weekly hours to help maintain the sanctuary and support the animals.

In this role, you will be public-facing as event staff and engage in community advocacy, along with all Level 1 opportunities. This position requires a phone call with the Program Director and completion of Alabaster Jar Project 101 Training.

As a Level 1 Support Volunteer, you will engage in non-public and non-client facing activities such as organizing donations, providing meals, and assisting with event setup. This role is essential for supporting the operations of the Alabaster Jar Project.

As a Level 3 Client-Facing Volunteer, you will work directly with survivors by leading workshops, organizing outings, and providing transportation, in addition to all Level 1 and Level 2 opportunities. This role requires trauma-informed training and a background check.

This program pairs volunteers who are veterans with hospice patients who also served in the United States Armed Forces for emotional healing.

Patient care volunteers provide companionship and emotional support to hospice families by visiting, listening, reading a book, or simply holding a hand.

As a grief support group facilitator, volunteers provide children with a safe space to share their grief story and connect with others.

Volunteers will assist community members and partners with promoting child abuse prevention services, identify local resources for families, and advocate for families as needed in English and/or Spanish.
