The West Grove Fire Company is a volunteer organization that is supplemented by career staff for our EMS and Fire operations and we welcome and encourage new volunteer members. Assist with home visits, transport rescue pugs to vet appointments, and support events. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and placement of rescue pugs.

Provide temporary care for rescue pugs until they are ready for adoption. The duration can vary based on the pug's condition, ranging from a few days to several months.

Volunteers in the Makerspace will assist the coordinator with activities and clean-up in a creative arts space where students explore pottery, sewing, graphic design, horticulture, and more. This role allows you to engage with students in hands-on creative projects.

Join students in fitness and physical health workshops, where you will help them learn about weight lifting, cardio, and maintaining healthy bodies. This role involves building relationships and providing safety and support during workouts.

Join ACT Players as a volunteer to help bring the magic of theater to life. Opportunities include backstage roles, front-of-house, set building, and more. Volunteers will make lasting connections with the community and support theater productions.

Help out at events by setting up, interacting with the public, and promoting adoption and volunteer opportunities. Volunteers may also assist in processing applications or posting on social media.

Assist in transporting animals from shelters to rescue homes or new adoptive homes. Volunteers can drive one leg of a transport or keep an animal overnight on their trip to safety.

Provide a temporary home for rescued animals until they find their forever homes. Volunteers are responsible for providing love, safety, and protection for a needy animal, while TreeTops provides all food, supplies, and vetting.

Puppy raisers are responsible for raising a CPL puppy in accordance with all CPL policies and procedures. They train and socialize puppies during the ages of 2–6 months, ensuring they learn basic obedience and public socialization. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an adult in the home trained as well.

Transport volunteers assist by transporting dogs to various locations, such as veterinary appointments or temporary volunteer homes. Volunteers can use CPL vans for transportation.

Walking volunteers take service dogs in training for leisurely walks around the CPL campus, providing them with exercise and a break from the kennel. This role helps acclimate the dogs to working with different handlers.

These volunteers assist with the CPL breeding program by caring for mothers and their litters during delivery and up to their first eight weeks of life. Support is needed 24 hours per day, and volunteers under 18 must have a trained adult volunteer with them.

Volunteers in this role help train dogs that serve as companions for individuals with physical and cognitive challenges. Dogs typically spend 2 to 5 months in a Home Companion Training Home to develop excellent house manners and obedience skills.

Cuddle time volunteers spend time in the cuddle room with service dogs in training, providing them with personal attention through petting, brushing, and reading to them. This role is essential for the dogs' socialization and comfort.

As an Animal Care Volunteer, you will assist with daily cleanup of the shelter, including cleaning the cat room and walking dogs. This role requires a commitment of at least one day per week and is perfect for those who love animals and want to make a difference.

Health Center Volunteers can be Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician Assistants, or Pharmacy/Nursing/Medical Students. They can volunteer full-time or for either the first half or second half of the week during camp.

Full-time counselors live in cabins with the campers and attend all programs. They are required to attend HIV/AIDS & Diversity Training in Kennett Square in June and for two days in August at Camp Saginaw.
