The WFD responds to 600 to 800 calls a year in the Town of Winchester and the surrounding towns. The WFD will send new members to a regional fire school for training at no cost to the individual. The Winsted Fire Department offers pay per call and a tax abatement to active members. We have immediate and critical need for new staff. We have lost several members in the last few years and are running short.
