We are looking for people with experience or drive to assist with direct solicitations, managing fundraising campaigns, and grant writing. Fundraising is a critical need for A Brighter Way.

As a community, we rely heavily on our volunteers for periodic events such as our annual resource fair and mentee activities such as moves. The more people we have active in our community, the more needs we can address.

We have an occasional need for trucks and drivers to assist with various logistics. This opportunity requires a willingness to help when possible, with no specific expectations of commitment.

Lunch Buddies is an opportunity for kids and volunteers to have lunch and recess together while building supportive friendships. The program will take place at various schools in Ypsilanti.

Every 1st & 2nd Saturday of the month from 10am-12:30pm.

We offer hands-on Reading tutoring opportunity for students.

Teaching youth about technology, coding, and AI.

We offer a hands-on Math tutoring opportunity with our youth partnering with Math 4 Success.

Every Monday of the week we offer a variety of programming ranging from Boy Mentoring, Girls Mentoring and our interactive Earn & Learn program. Each of these programs need additional hands to ensure that we are supporting the youth in the community.

A mentor for a skill-building program for youth.

Every 1st & 2nd Friday of the month from 1pm-3pm.

Participate in a team to select children's literature and negotiate prices from suppliers. Occasionally meet at the SICT offices to prepare deliveries to the prison.

Visit within a facility and interact with inmates to help them select a book to read to their child. Record the book and encourage the parent to create a greeting card for the child.

Volunteer as a mentor to help youth in your community by providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development. Engage in activities that foster leadership and life skills.

Assist in organizing and executing the holiday food drive to benefit Food Gatherers. Volunteers will help collect, sort, and distribute food items and monetary donations to support local families in need.

Provide emotional and informational support to individuals experiencing pregnancy loss or termination. Volunteers will be paired with clients to offer compassionate care and a listening ear.

Contribute to the design and marketing efforts of the Jim Toy Community Center. Volunteers will help create promotional materials and assist in marketing campaigns to support the center's events and initiatives.

Participate in planning and executing special events and fundraising activities. Volunteers will assist in event logistics, donor engagement, and fundraising strategies to support the center's mission.

Assist in organizing and volunteering for Pride events, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees. Responsibilities may include event setup, coordination, and participant engagement.

Support teachers and students during in-school writing programs. Volunteers will help facilitate writing activities and provide one-on-one support to students as needed.
